Nan Umrigar, through her second book Listening to Silence, aims to satiate the spiritual appetite of readers
After making thousands laugh and cry in the same breath with her first book,Sounds of Silence,Nan Umrigar who aims to continue her endeavour to touch many a hearts and change lives is back with her second book,Listening to the Silence,a sequel to Sounds of Silence.
Moving strongly from one word to another she showcases everything that she has believed in,for years,to the readers. Focussing more on the Masters (Meher Baba) love and compassion for all,she chronicles into wider areas of spirituality attempting to write an honest account of every persons experience that she has heard over the years.
Sounds of Silence was about her journey towards reconnecting with her son through bouts of scepticism, personal battles finally leading to a wall of a belief, whereas with Listening to Silence she shares many such equally intriguing, astonishing, endearing stories of people, which talk of their strength and triumphs, with the reader.
Speaking about the self-same beliefs she says,Listening to Silence provides answers to a lot of question that arise in our minds about life after death, reincarnation and greater philosophies of Karma.
So many people have told me about their beautiful stories and this seemed like the right thing to do. To compile them all and put it all together in a book, adds Umrigar. She also mentions that though Meher Baba is from Pune and has spent his life here, people hardly know about him. This is her way of spreading awareness about the unknown energy that draw many to him.
Listening to Silence may not have turned out the way Nan Umrigar had planned but she is not complaining,as she feels the purpose is solved. Umrigar adds excitedly,I get close to six queries a day after the second book and that shows that it is affecting many people the way it should. The book will be officially launched in an open to all event in June and is available at a leading bookstore. It will be more like a Meher Baba awareness event, everyone is invited, says Umrigar.
