Ready reckoner rates to get realistic with GIS mapping

Ahead of this year’s declaration, the pilots initiated for Pune, Mumbai and Thane is set to be completed so that “micro valuation” with the help of these maps is possible.

In an effort to make a more realistic ready reckoner rates, the Inspectorate General of Registration and Stamps (IGR) is linking sale data with GIS maps to give a more scientific and rational approach to the project.

With Pune being among the key cities to be part of the pilot project, the department is working out a pilot project in association with the Maharashta Remote Sensing Application Centre (MRSAC). Ahead of this year’s declaration, the pilots initiated for Pune, Mumbai and Thane is set to be completed so that “micro valuation” with the help of these maps is possible.
