Pune ACB arrest Baramati town planner for allegedly accepting a Rs 1 lakh bribe from builder
The complainant said the Baramati town planner allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from him for approving the project.

The Pune unit of the Maharashtra Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Wednesday arrested the town planner of Baramati for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a builder for approving a residential project plan.
ACB has identified the senior public servant as Vikas Kisanrao Dhekale, 50, who was arrested after a builder and real estate developer lodged a complaint against him.
The complainant said he submitted a proposal to the Baramati Town Planning Department, headed by Dhekale, regarding a residential project in the Rui area of the town. The complainant said Dhekale allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from him to approve the project. The complainant said the bribe amount was negotiated down to Rs 1.75 lakh.
The builder approached the Pune ACB on March 18 after Dekhale allegedly demanded the bribe. Subsequently, a trap was laid by ACB. On Wednesday, Dhekale was caught allegedly accepting Rs 1 lakh as the first instalment of the bribe from the complainant at a gymnasium in Baramati. ACB officials also verified the bribe demand in front of witnesses.
He was subsequently placed under arrest and an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered at the Baramati City Police Station against him.
