The Pune Municipal Corporation Employees Union has protested against the civic administration’s attitude towards the residents of Urali Devachi where the civic body dumps garbage.

“The affected villagers have been complaining about the problems they face due to the garbage dumped in their village. They have been continuously pressing their demand to stop dumping of garbage, but the municipal corporation has not paid any importance to them,” a union press note said.

General Secretary of the union,Mukta Manohar said that the union understands the problem faced by villagers and oppose the way their voice is being suppressed. “This is sending a wrong message,” she said adding the citizens should ensure that wet and dry garbage are segregated before disposal so that it can be used for recycling or producing manure.
