No holiday for schools

As most schools in the city will have a half-day schedule on Thursday owing to month-end,no school has declared a holiday for Thursday. Some school autorickshaws and van drivers,however,said they did not want to take any risk and would not be ferrying students on Thursday.

“As the verdict is expected after 3.30 pm,there is no need to change the school timings; our classes will be over at 11.30 am on Thursday,” said Leena Choudhary,principal of Symbiosis School. “We will decide and convey the timings for Friday,depending on the situation.”

Jaya Bhaskar,principal of Abhinav English Medium School,said both the morning and afternoon batches of the school would be over before 3.30 pm. “Hence,we have not given any specific instructions.”

A van driver who ferries nursery children,however,said,“ I am not going to take any risk by ferrying schoolchildren on Thursday. I have asked parents to drop their wards to schools on their own responsibility.”
