Addressing the Supreme Court, the government announced that they have a detailed plan of action in place in order to sensitise school-going children about the negative effects of firecracker pollution in order to develop a sense of responsibility among students and school staff.
Hooghly (WB), Feb 26 (ANI): A student of class 3 was allegedly molested by a teacher in Hooghly district of West Bengal. The family of the student created uproar outside the school. They broke a glass of a police van and injured two police officials. However, the situation was controlled by the Bhadreswar police.
Palghar (Maharashtra), Feb 26 (ANI): Over 100 students fell ill after consuming mid-day meal at a government-run school in Palghar district of Maharashtra. An official of the district education department Prakash Mokashi said action will be taken against the guilty. Jyoti Jadav, a student of the same school, said her stomach started aching after consuming the meal. 17 of the Kasa village primary school students are still critical.The police have sent food samples for tests to a laboratory in Mumbai.
Kolkata, Feb 15 (ANI): A person was injured after two motorcycle-borne miscreants fired gun shots outside the Loreto School at Convent road in Kolkata on Monday. The victim was shot in the leg and was rushed to the nearby hospital. The site where the victim was shot is reported to be near the jute mill. Police have reached the spot to identify further details and a man-hunt has been launched against the miscreants. Meanwhile, security has been heightened outside the school in light of the shooting.
New Delhi, Jan 27 (ANI): The winners of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's Republic Day School Media Contest met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and veteran Indian shooter and politician Rajyavardhan Rathore on Wednesday. The winners were awarded certificates and prizes for their contribution. The contests were held on Ministry's Facebook and Twitter page, where graffiti were invited from participants on various flagship programmes of the government. The competition was open for a fortnight from 1 to 14 January.
Junagadh (Gujarat), Jan 21 (ANI): A school bus in Gujarat’s Junagadh area met with an accident on Thursday. Six people, including four children and two women, have been killed in the accident. More than 20 children have been grievously injured. Medical aid is being provided to the injured children.
