MSRTC expands intra-state AC bus network

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has expanded its intra-state AC buses network and will be providing additional service to Aurangabad,Borivili (Mumbai),Nashik,and Thane.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has expanded its intra-state AC buses network and will be providing additional service to Aurangabad,Borivili (Mumbai),Nashik,and Thane. Till now,MSRTC was largely focussing on Pune-Dadar route and Pune-Nashik route. On popular demand,the MSRTC has also increased its service to Goa as well.

The MSRTC is also getting four buses from Mercedes Benz,which will take the total number of buses to 37 buses. All these buses will be running under the Shivneri brand.

“The Mercedes Benz buses will be running on the Pune-Mumbai route with a frequency of an hour,” Said Shivaji Sonawane,MSRTC divisional controller,Pune division. “We expect the new routes to be just as popular,” he said. The Pune-Dadar via the pimpri Chinchwad route will have over 30 trips daily at half-an-hour interval. The Pune Dadar via Aundh will have over 40 trips over the day,at 15 minutes frequency at peak hours. Swargate to borivili will have trips each day. The Swargate-Borivili via Thane will have three trips. Pune Nashik will see ten trips,Pune Aurangabad will see eight trips and Swargate to Thane will see 12 trips daily.

Commuters will also be able to book tickets through 19 agents across the city after paying a commission.
