Imran Khan is starting the New Year on a happy note. The actor is set to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend Avantika Malik on January 8. The wedding will be a simple affair with nearly 1,000 guests joining the newly-weds to celebrate the occasion. The wedding and reception are happening at Malik’s family farmhouse in Karjat.

Considered to be one of the steadiest couples of Bollywood,Khan and Malik have been in a relationship for nearly eight years now. The couple got engaged early this year at the same farmhouse. In an earlier interview,Khan had said that he would squeeze in marriage dates in January since he has a very hectic schedule for 2011. The young actor is shooting for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Short Term Shaadi,opposite Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor,next year.
