To train students from economically weaker section and spread awareness on various options in the Information Technology industry,a city-based NGO along with an IT finishing school will organise a free workshop for students of Classes X as XII. Sarathi,a city-based NGO,in association with GreenFrog IT Solutions Pvt Ltd and PerfectM IT Finishing School will organise workshops and seminars for the students. PrefectM will guide the students about opportunities in the IT companies through counselling sessions, while GreenFrog will provide free IT education workshop.
Shankar Kalmani, chairman of Sarathi, said,Today, around 2 lakh people are working in the 700 IT companies in Pune. There are a large number of opportunities in this field, but only a handful of these students are aware of them. Most of the students opt for engineering and medical. Basically it is because of the lack of awareness about the other options available today. Hence,we have organised counselling sessions and workshops to guide the students.
Anuradha Deshpande,CEO,PerfectM IT Finishing School,said,One-on-one counselling sessions will guide candidates about their potential and also inform them about demands of the IT industry. Their skills will be channelised in a right direction and bring them one step closer towards getting placed.
GreenFrogss Rahul Joshi said,We have collaborated with Sarathi with an aim to educate deserving candidates from economically weaker sections and contribute to the social development in India. We want more and more students to choose IT as a career option. Our job oriented IT training will assist them in imparting the technology in the corporate world.
