Pune doctor gets Londons Royal College fellowship
The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology,London,has conferred the honorary fellowship honoris causa on Dr Sanjay Gupte for his contribution to the advancement of the practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Gupte,presently president of FOGSI (The Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Societies of India),will receive the fellowship at the 32nd British International Congress in Belfast in June 2010.
BVU lifetime achievement awards
Chairman of University Grants Commission Sukhdev Thorat,veteran socialist leader Rambhau Tupe,former vice chancellor of University of Pune Shridhar Gupte and social worker Sidhutai Sapkal will receive Bharati Vidyapeeth Universitys lifetime achievement award this year. President of 83rd Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan D B alias Da Bhi Kulkarni will be the chief guest,chancellor of BVU Patangrao Kadam will preside over the function, said Shivajirao Kadam,vice chancellor of BVU. Kadam said the awards would be presented on Monday on the occasion of the 15th foundation day of BVU.
Workshop on second career post retirement
Aspart of the dignity second career initiative,the Dignity Foundation has organised a workshop in association with the senior executives forum,MCCIA,for senior citizens who are looking for re-employment after retirement,on Monday at Tilak Road from 11 am. This is the first in the series of skill enhancement workshops under the Dignity second career programme. The workshop How to gear up for a second career will cover interview techniques,presentation skills,communicating correctly & confidently,etiquette and grooming. Ratna Khemani,personality counselor,will conduct workshop.
