For Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor,replicating his mother Urmil Kapoor’s dishes is a tough task. From the basic aloo jeera to pressure-cooked veggies,Kapoor fails to recreate that exact taste in his recipes,he admits. To celebrate his mother’s and his mother-in-law,Lata Lohana’s culinary skills,Kapoor launched ‘Cooking with Love: Vegetarian Recipes from My Mother’s Kitchen’,at The Westin recently. “We have penned this book to give a homely touch to restaurant food. It is different in style,approach and ingredients,” Kapoor said. Cooking with Love is a compilation of Urmil Kapoor and Lata Lohana’s recipes. It is seeped in home flavours and rich in simplicity. Without undermining the efforts of hotel chefs,who spend immense time lending their signature taste to a dish,Kapoor said that no one could touch a mother’s cooking expertise. The celebrity chef is also working on establishing a chain of home-style restaurants all over the country. “They will focus on making the right kind of dish rather than perfecting the shape,appearance and ingredients,” he assured.
