Deo wins varsity senate polls

Shridhar Shrikrishna Deo emerged the fifth winner from the engineering faculty in the college teachers category in the senate election of the University of Pune.

Shridhar Shrikrishna Deo emerged the fifth winner from the engineering faculty in the college teachers category in the senate election of the University of Pune (UoP).

Deo,vice-principal of Indira College Of Engineering and Management,Parandwadi,Maval,Pune,was a candidate from Dr Atul Bagul’s Swabhiman Panel.

The two groups which contested for the 19 senate seats were the Swabhiman panel and another group which comprised teachers from Pune University Teachers Association (PUTA) and Pune University College Teachers’ Organisation (PUCTO). As many as 18 out of the 19 seats were won by candidates from PUTA and PUCTO and Deo was the only candidtae from the Swabhiman panel to win a seat.
