The vacation of Pune district and sessions court ends on June 7. All the newly appointed judges in and from Pune will assume their charge on the day. The German Bakery blast case will resume from June 7. Also,trial in the Nayana Pujari gang rape and murder case will resume from the same day. A total of 23 new judges have been transferred to Pune and 13 out of Pune. V K Kadam will be the new member secretary of Pune District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA).

Anticipatory bail for talathi,broker

CBI special judge S V Lathkar granted anticipatory bail to talathi of Lohegaon Balbhim Gaikwad and broker Mohammad Israque Khan,on Saturday. The anticipatory bail was granted against a personal bond of Rs 40,000 each. The court had earlier restrained the CBI from arresting the suspects. The CBI had earlier arrested Kevin Pinto,builder Harish Milani and retired defence estates officer S R Nayyar for allegedly manipulating and forging records of 69.24 acres of army land at Lohegaon worth over Rs 800 crore. They were later released on bail.

Chargesheet late,bail for rape suspect

A Magistrate court in Saswad granted bail to history-sheeter Ganesh Raskar (32) as the police failed to file chargesheet against him within the stipulated period of 45 days. Raskar has a total of 16 offences,including rape,pending against him. Raskar was arrested on January 25 this year for alleged theft of Rs 11.12 lakh. The police had seized Rs 4 lakh from him in this case and had sought more time to file the chargesheet as his identification parade was pending. This application was accepted by the court. However,when police failed to file the chargesheet even after the identification parade,the court granted bail to him against a surety of Rs 15,000.

JMFC exam flawed,say students

Students have approached the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) complaining that the examination for Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC),conducted on May 29,was “flawed.” MPSC released “ideal answers” of the question paper on its web portal on May 31. The students allege that answers to questions numbered 16 and 42 are wrong,while those of questions 47 and 94 were found to be the same. The examination is of 100 marks,with one mark for each question.
