Kirloskar Brothers Ltd (KBL),a water management solution company,presented an Academic Excellence Award held at a function at College of Engineering Pune. Avinash Purandare,Vice President and Head of Corporate Global Marketing and Strategy,presented the award to Avnish Jagdeesh who has scored highest aggregate marks during the year 2005-09,with a 10 gm gold coin and a certificate for his brilliant performance in academics during this period. The function was graced by R K Srivastava Director, Avinash Purandare, Vice President and Head Corporate Global Marketing and Strategy, D B Nimbalkar,- Vice President Corporate Human Resource,Dr J T Khsirsagar,Vice President Corporate Research and Engineering,Dr A D Sahasrabudhe,Director,COEP College of Engineering Pune ,Prof D W Pande – Head of Mechanical Engineering and Dr G V Parishwad of Mechanical Engineering,COEP.

International dentistry exposure
The Dental programme offered by Dr D Y Patil Dental College and Hospital,Pimpri,has been recognized by the Malaysian Government and Dental Council. With this recognition,the graduates will be eligible to be appointed as Government dentist and practicing dentistry in Malaysia. This visit by the study team to the College and communication between the Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai and the University is a great boost to the students. The study team comprised of six members who were appointed by the Health Ministry of Govt of Malaysia and its Dental Council and headed by Ms Datin,Dr Norain and Abu Talib,In-charge,of Ministry of Health,Govt of Malaysia. The Medical programme offered by the University has also got the Malaysian Government and Malaysian Medical Councils Recognition, says Dr P D Patil,Vice Chancellor,Dr D Y Patil University. The inspection has been carried out in the presence of Somanath Patil,Executive Director,Prof S Bhosale,Provost & Director (Academics),Prof V S Anand,Deputy Director and Charudatta Naik,Dean,Arun Patil,Registrar of Dr D Y Patil Dental College.

Pravin Chopade,Asst Prof Electrical Engineering,Bharati Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering was awarded the IEI Young Engineers Award on November 14 by the Institute of Engineers. This award was presented to him in Jaipur during the 25 th National Convention of Electrical Engineers and national seminar on Indian electrical equipment and components manufacturing industry destination 2012,organised by the Institute of Engineers in Rajasthan state center. The grand function was held at the B M Birla Auditorium,Jaipur,where Dr. Jitendra Singh,Minister of Power and Higher Education,was the chief guest and gave the award,which consisted of a certificate and cash reward.
