Leader of Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Organisation Nikhil Dey has said that corruption in the rural employment guarantee scheme could be exposed with the help of Right to Information.

Leader of Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Organisation Nikhil Dey has said that corruption in the rural employment guarantee scheme could be exposed with the help of Right to Information (RTI). “By doing this,one can help poor people in rural areas to get their just share,” he said. Dey was speaking at a conference arranged for youth leaders by MIT School of Government and NCP youth wing last week. Dey urged political activists to use RTI to resolve the issues of voters. Dean of MITSOG Rahul Karad welcomed the guests. NCP youth wing Mahesh Tapase was present.

Award for Chordiya
Founder chairman of the Suryadatta Group of Institutes Sanjay B Chordiya was honoured with Asia Pacific Most Promising Entrepreneur Award 2009 recently. Instituted by Enterprise Asia,a non-governmental organization for entrepreneurship,this award was given to Chordiya in recognition of his vision and plans to lead his Institution to be the undisputed leader in the near future and also for creating a world-class educational institute of repute. Dr,Chordiya received the award in Mumbai recently where APAC representatives were present including William NG,president,Enterprise Asia and other distinguished recipients,stated a release.

Seminar on exam reforms
The Maharashtra Education Society’s Institute of Management and Career Courses (IMCC) is holding a seminar on ‘examination reforms in higher education’ on February 5 and 6. The seminar will include discussions on the need of change in evaluating pattern along with changing educational system,validity of degree certificates and so on. Suggestions,criticism and ideas about alternative system of evaluation presented in the seminar would be placed before the authorities of universities and those from higher and technical education in Maharashtra. Dr Arun Nigavekar will deliver the key note address.

Meet to promote entrepreneurship
Professor Ramkrishna More Arts,Commerce and Science College recently organised a seminar on ‘entrepreneurship for youngsters’. Joshu Teo,executive founder,Emergenetics Asia Private Limited and Colin Yeow,CEO of the company addressed the students. Students from MCA,M.Sc computer science,BBA and BCA attended the seminar.

Recruitment forum
The Lexicon Institute of Management Education had recently organised a ‘Summer Internship and Placement Forum’ (SIPF),which acted as a platform for internship and job opportunities for students from various other management institutes. According to a press note,representatives from L’Oreal,Birla Sun Life,Venky’s,Punjab National Bank,Kotak Mahindra,Kalyani Forge,National Medical Exchange attended the event. Around 1000 students attended the forum and submitted their resumes to the recruiters.

Librarian Certificate Course from April
The Pune District Granthalaya Sangh,Pune at 688,Narayan Peth,will conduct the government-recognised Librarian Certificate Course from April 1 to May 31. Students desirous of taking up the course should contact the granthayala on 9822634273. The minimum qualification required is Class 10 pass. Those working in library would be given priority.
