The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI ACB) on Thursday nabbed a head booking clerk working with the Indian Railways red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 444 on Thursday afternoon. This is the first trap by the CBIACB in the railways after the Pune office was started last year. Vidya Kulkarni,Supritendent of Police,CBI-ACB said, On Thursday we had received a written complaint that Chandrakant Thombare,head booking clerk posted at Ghorawadi railway station indulged in malpractices in selling of railway tickets and complained that the Thombare had demanded a bribe for issuing him a railway ticket. Kulkarni said that a CBIACB team laid a trap on Thursday evening; during the trap Thombare told the complainant that there is a waiting list of 250 for Darbhanga Express leaving Pune on December 2. He thereafter told him that if he needs a ticket,he would have to buy it from the tatkal quota by paying extra money. Following which he accepted Rs. 1700 for booking two tickets and asked him to collect the tickets on Monday.
