Autorickshaws impounded

The traffic police department impounded 170 rickshaws in Pune and 150 rickshaws from the neighbouring Pimpri- Chinchwad in a drive started since Thursday. “Action was taken against the rickshaws which were not plying by meters,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manoj Patil on Friday. “We impounded rickshaws in the Pune station,Kothrud and Swargate.

Pune police commissioner Satyapal Singh gave the orders regarding the same. Action was also taken against 10 autorickshaws that were found plying without a valid permit. All the rickshaw’s have been impounded for a period of 10 days” said Patil.
