Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda’s second feature film, Ikkis, released in theatres on Thursday. The film also marks the posthumous release of late legendary star Dharmendra. To promote the film, Agastya appeared on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati along with his co-star and debutant Simar Bhatia, who is Akshay Kumar’s niece. In the promotional clips from the show, Big B is seen pulling Agastya’s leg and also teasing him after he helped Simar with her saree trail.

‘Agastya had scared me’

Amitabh asked Simar how she was feeling about coming on KBC for the first time and encouraged her to speak her mind unabashedly, without worrying about any instructions given by Agastya. Responding to him, Simar said, “I am feeling really nice seeing the way you are talking to Agastya. He had scared me. He told me that I have to maintain a decorum in front of you.”

Amitabh immediately reassured her and said, “Koe decorum- vecorum kuch nahi. You do whatever you wish like. Be comfortable. Don’t take stress.”

Agastya then confronted Simar and asked her, “When did I say this to you?” To this, Big B intervened and told him, “Why are you scaring her?” Simar clarified the situation by adding, “But he took care of me on set of the film.” This gave Big B another chance to tease Agastya, as he quipped, “You do things like this? Kya baat hai.”

Amitabh recalls how ‘pehelwan’ Dharmendra put him in agony

In another promotional clip from the show, Big B paid tribute to his co-star Dharmendra and shared an anecdote from Sholay, recalling how Dharmendra once held him so tightly during a scene that he was in real agony. He shared, “He had a quality, which I would describe as his physical quality. He was a pehelwan. I got to learn this myself. In the death scene, when I am in agony, it is because of him. He held me so tightly, I was acting naturally here.”
