Auto-driver robs passenger

Sanjay Bhimrao Gadge (25) was looted by the driver of the autorickshaw he was traveling in ,and two other co passengers at Kalyani Nagar in the early hours on Saturday.

Police said that he took a rickshaw under the share a rickshaw scheme to go to Chandan Nagar. When he boarded the rickshaw two people were already sitting in it.

After the rickshaw reached Shashtri Chowk on Nagar road,instead of going straight towards Chandan Nagar,the driver took a turn towards Kalyani Nagar. Gadge said he wanted to get down at Shastri Chowk. But the driver told him that he had taken a detour,as he had to buy liquor in Kalyani Nagar,following which he would take him to Chandan Nagar. But as soon as the rickshaw turned towards Kalyani Nagar two of his co passengers threatened him with a knife and forcibly took his mobile and Rs 1,200 from him and left him stranded on the road.

Gadge,who had noted theegistration number of the rickshaw,approached the police. Following which a police team searched the city for the suspects and trapped a rickshaw driver at Netaji Nagar in Yerwada on Monday evening. The police nabbed Ravi Arun Shinde (26),Kashinath Sarjerao Shinde (25) and Nilesh Balkrushan Nikalje (25),all residents of Yerwada. During investigations,all the three suspects admitted to the crime. The police seized Gadges mobile from them.
