AFMC gets ‘A’ grade in NAAC

The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC),Pune,has received re-accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ grading and a CGPA of 3.51 out of a maximum of 4 (87.5%),which is the highest ever awarded to any medical institution.

The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC),Pune,has received re-accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ grading and a CGPA of 3.51 out of a maximum of 4 (87.5%),which is the highest ever awarded to any medical institution.

According to Lt Gen D P Vats,SM,VSM,Director & Commandant,AFMC,the institution has received appreciation from the NAAC team for several improvements and innovations carried out since the last accreditation in 2003.

While awarding ‘A’ Grading in 2003,the NAAC had noted,“The teaching-learning methodology is student-centric and the college needs to be commended for its efforts in producing work-books,study manuals,protocols and computer-aided learning material. A notable feature of the various departments is the museums,which are a rich source of information for students,” said a release issued here.

Since then,the system of assessment has been modified to the CGPA Scale,which is objective.

The NAAC team had shown interest in improvements and innovations that have been made at AFMC since the accreditation in 2003.

Lt Gen D P Vats,SM,VSM,Director & Commandant,AFMC received the re-accreditation certificate at a function in Bangalore.
