The anti-dacoity cell of Pune police crime branch arrested two men who robbed senior citizens impersonating as policemen. Police have recovered gold worth Rs 3 lakh from the duo. The two have been identified as Mustafa Shabirali Jafri (28) of Mumbra,Thane and Fateh Shainu Sayyad (40) of Shrirampur in Ahmadnagar.

Anant Shinde,additional commissioner of police (crime),said,“The duo used to impersonate as policemen and stop elderly women. They would tell the women that someone has been murdered few meters away and asked them to deposit their cash and ornaments in a bag for their safety. They would then flee with the bag.”

3 minor girls rescued,2 traffickers arrested

The social security cell of Pune Police crime branch on Friday rescued three minor girls,including two from Bangladesh,and arrested two suspected traffickers. The police said the girls were brought to Pune from Kolhapur and were forced into prostitution for the past one month. The team arrested the two men — Himayat Majid Mulla (28) and Rinku Mujawar Mulla (25). The accused have been arrested under sections of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) and under Passport Act and Foreigners Act. The girls have revealed that four persons had brought them to Maharashtra on the pretext of giving them good jobs. They were forced into prostitution after being taken to Kolhapur about a month ago.
