11 hospitals added to CGHS empanelled list

Nine hospitals already on the list to provide additional facilities

Over one lakh beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) have something to cheer about. With the addition of 11 new hospitals,the total number of empanelled hospitals from where beneficiaries can avail treatment has shot up to 47.

Several hospitals in the periphery of the city have been included in the list in order to reduce the burden on the hospitals in the city,said Dr R S Katke,additional director of CGHS,Pune.

The government has also issued orders to merge 19 postal dispensaries across 12 cities with CGHS. Officials said even as issues like the posts of doctors,pharmacists and clerical staff will be discussed once these dispensaries are merged,doctors will continue to provide services. Katke said there are 3,434 serving employees of the post and telegraph department and 1,298 pensioners.

As per the Central government order dated July 31,the 11 new hospitals on the list are Sharada Clinic at Ghorpade Peth,Sanjeevani Hospital,Uttamnagar,Kohakade Hospital,Chandannagar,Pawana Hospital,Maval,Chintamani Hospital,Bibvewadi,Sainath Hospital,Pune-Nashik Road,Vasan Eye Care Hospital,Kothrud,Rao Nursing Home,Bibwewadi,Aadhar Hospital,Dehu Road,Colony Nursing Home,Navi Peth and Sahyadri Specialty Hospital,Karve Road.

Meanwhile,nine hospitals on the panel have been permitted to provide additional specialities to beneficiaries. “This will help our beneficiaries avail themselves of better facilities in growing number of hospitals which was not the case so far,” said Katke.

For instance,presently empanelled for endoscopic surgery,Shashwat Hospital can now offer additional facilities like joint replacement surgery,arthroscopy,specialty orthopaedics,chemotherapy among others. Similarly,Sanjeevan Hospital on Karve Road can now provide facilities like CT scan,chemotherapy etc. Krishna Hospital on Paud Road that is empanelled for orthopaedic surgery and joint replacement surgery,will be now able to offer facilities like intensive care unit and chemotherapy.

Chaitanya Hospital at Chinchwad will now be able to offer general surgery,general medicine,ENT,neuro surgery etc. Ranka Hospital at Mukundnagar,which was empanelled for orthopaedics,can now treat patients for burns,plastic surgery,joint replacement and arthroscopy. Jehangir Hospital will now be able to provide facilities like ophthalmology,ENT,cardiology,cardio thoracic surgery,obstetrics and gynaecology,neuro surgery,urology,nephrology and renal transplant,MRI and CT scan.

Medipoint Hospital at Aundh will offer minimal access laparoscopic surgery,orofaciomaxillary surgery,vascular surgery,trauma care and diagnostic facilities like mammography,cathlab,audiometry pulmonary function test and health check facility. Sai Shree Orthopaedic Superspecialty and Joint Replacement Centre at Aundh will now also deal with general medicine cases. Om Hospital at Bhosari,which was empanelled for cardiothoracic and endoscopic surgery,will now also deal with cases of general medicine,ophthalmology,psychiatry among others.
