Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (File)In case of second security breach in less than a month, a man was arrrested on Tuesday afternoon after bursting crackers just before CM Nitish Kumar was attending a function at Silao im Nalanda. Though no ome was injured, it created a chaotic scene at the function. The CM has been on a personal trip to Assembly segments unfer Nalanda and Barh Lok Sabha segments, which Nitish represented in the past.
Nalanda Police detained a local youth, Shubham Aditya (25). A case has been lodged in the matter at Silao police station. Shubham reportedly told police that he had been writing a novel and “wanted to know role of a villain”. Shubham has no criminal antecdent. Ateam of doctors will assess his mental condition.
The incident took place at around 4 pm when the CM reached Silao and had been collecting applications from individuals. Just as the CM had been interacting with people of his home district, a local youth burst a low-intensity fire-cracker, which alramed local police and personnel deployed in security of the CM. The police immedately detained the youth, who reportedly told the police he burst crackers out of enthusiasm to welcome the CM.
It is the second incident of CM security breach after a mentally unstable man had punched shoulder of the CM while he had been offering floral tributes to statue of a freedom fighter at Bakhtiyarpur a fortnight ago. No case, however, was lodged.
