Bombay YMCA’s 38th state level annual athletic meet will be held at Sports Authority of India,Kandivali (East),from November 22 to 24. There will be 129 events,which include new events such as the high jump and long jump for the boys and girls under-8. Entries from athletes from districts other than Mumbai and suburbs,have to be sent through the respective district associations.
Junior squash tourney at Khar Gym
The IGOPL Offshore Junior & Doubles Handicap Squash Tournament will be organised and hosted by Khar Gymkhana from October 15 to 18. The states leading juniors will feature in the tournament that includes events for boys and girls in the under-9,11,13,15,17 and the doubles handicap categories.

Alex Pereira nets four for Lourdes
Alex Pereiras four strikes was the highlight of Our Lady of Lourdes B,Malads 5-2 win against Sacred Heart,Vasai in a first round match of the 26th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana (WCG) annual Inter-Parish Rink Football Tournament,played at the WCG tennis courts. Dalton got the fifth goal for the winners,while Ricky Sebastian and Glen Baptista got the goals for the lsoing side.
Later in the day,St Josephs,Vikhroli overcame Our Lady of Grace Cathedral B,Vasai by a fluent 5-2 margin. Deon Pereira netted a brace and Frank DSouza,Clifton Colaco and Sheldon DSouza scored one each for the victors. Rubain Cerejo and Oliver DMello netted one each each for the losers.

Kurt Baptista does the trick for Trashers
Riding on Kurt Baptistas fine hat-trick,Kalina Trashers stormed to a facile 5-0 win against Talaikerz in a league match of the 14th Kalina Football League organised by the sports committee of Our Lady of Egypt Church,Kalina and played at the St Marys HS ground. Keith Jacinto and Allan Fernandes netted the other two goals for the winning side.
In another match,Kalina United got the better of Kalina Village Boys by a 2-0 margin. Omkar Khambe and Cedric D’Mello struck a goal each to complete the win.
Meanwhile in a closely contested encounter,Egyptian Boyz and Kalina Rangers shared hounours in a 1-1 draw. Fahim Fakri was on target for the Egyptian side and Kalina Rangers got their goal through Bipin Rawat.

Khade felicitates state champions
Olympian Virdhawal Khade felicitated the winners of the national swimming championships at the Cricket Club of India on Saturday. Seventeen-year-old Raoul Rajani made Maharashtra,and his club CCI,proud by winning three gold medals at the GMAAA Age Group Meet recently,where he set three records. He subsequently won four golds at the Maharastra State Championships with three records to his name and topped it off with three medals at the nationals. He also won three golds at the Seniors GMAAA and three golds and a record at the Senior State Championships. Raoul has qualified for the Senior National Championships to be held in Kerela from November 20 to 24. Meanwhile,Khade also felicitated 11-year-old Varun Patel,who won two medals at GMAAA and one each at the state and national meets. Khade,who won the bronze medal at the Guangzhou Asian Games,one of countrys most accomplished swimmers.
