After a six-year successful run,one of the most popular plays of Indian theatre,The Vagina Monologues,is back with a twist. Saturday witnessed the film industry support the theatre fraternity as the team of the Poor Box Productions came together with Imran Khan and Sandip Soparrkar who back the cause that the play’s team has been fighting for. Calling it V-Day,which stands for Victory,Violence and Vagina,Mahabanoo Mody Kotwal,Dolly Thakore,Avantika Akerkar,Sonal Sachdev and co-owner Kaizad Kotwal introduced a dance act to the play by the renowned choreographer. Sandip, with Jesse Randhawa and Smiley Suri, will do a special dance sequence to dramatise the story of Haseena Husain—a victim of an acid attack by a male colleague who took umbrage at her rejection of his advances. The dance will be performed on March 25.

Showstopper Imran gave a moving address about how men need to support the cause too. Dressed in printed shirt,he ensured all eyes were on him when he took to the stage.
