Sounds Greek

With a host of specialty cuisine restaurants changing the palate of Mumbai,it is not surprising that the city will soon have its first Greek restaurant. Opa by hotelier Ashish Sajnani, who owns Juhu’s Royal Garden Hotel and the Jewel of Chembur,is being readied to launch in September. Intended to be an all-day diner,it will be located on the premises of Royal Garden Hotel, and will be on the same lines as Goa’s famous restaurant Thalassa. The diner is said to big enough to include an al fresco dining section as well as a specially designed bar. Though it will also serve as a café,the USP will be the Greek dishes on the menu, like the spanakopita. However, with a surge in restaurants serving Levantine cuisine, like Amadeus, there are chances of a few overlaps. But that should not matter if the city’s first Greek restaurant promises some authentic fare.
