Sena man’s killing: Cops suspended

All five accused were arrested within few hours of the murder.

TWO officers posted at Dindoshi police station were suspended Saturday after being charged with inaction following the murder of 28-year-old Shiv Sena member Ramesh Jadhav Tuesday.

“Assistant inspector Prasad Pitale and Sub-inspector Nitin Khairnar have been suspended for inaction following the disturbance in Dindoshi Tuesday evening,” said Panjabrao Ugale, deputy commissioner of police, zone XII.

Pitale and Khairnar, alongwith inspector Arun Rajame, Dindoshi senior inspector Subhash Dafle and ACP Rajendra Kotak were transferred to local arms division Thursday in the wake of Jadhav’s murder at his home.

All five accused were arrested within few hours of the murder. Following the murder, Shiv Sena workers had disrupted traffic on Rani Sati Marg and Western Express Highway and also ransacked the home of the accused.
