The Mumbai traffic officials said there was heavy traffic congestion in the southbound direction of the Western Express Highway, while traffic was also reported near Chembur, Kurla and on the Santacruz Chembur Link road (SCLR).
Mumbaikars flooded the internet with their traffic concerns, a Twitter user posted saying, “Footpath blocked by the dumping of vehicles in busy intersections, also vehicles parked permanently in the road leading to G Block BKC from SCLR, Kurla Chor Bazar, any affirmative action possible to take care of traffic jams during peak time.”
The Mumbai traffic police said through a tweet that due to a tempo accident at Aarey Bridge, south bound traffic vehicular movement is slow. The officials further added that the traffic jams were also reported in the southbound direction on the P D Mello road near CST, near Jio Worli Drive in BKC, Worli, Saath Rasta near Byculla and Dadar.
Another Twitter user said, “Total traffic jam at saat rasta why can’t more policemen be deployed to unclog?” While a tweet read, “The most needed Corporate Social Responsibility CSR activity in the city is “Managing Traffic”… I as most of us looking to do CSR have planted trees and cleaned beaches… Nothing can relieve the city more than ensuring that there are ZERO jams at least along the WEH and EEH.”
