More IPS officers transferred

The state home department announced the second round of transfers and promotions of IPS officers on Wednesday. The West region that was without a zonal head and has witnessed two major crimes in the last month — the Sakinaka rape case and the Vakola fratricide — got a new Additional Commissioner of Police.

Chhering Dorjee, who was holding additional charge of the region, was appointed. Additional Commissioner (South) Krishna Prakash to DIG, CID, Crime, Pune. A total of 87 SP and DCP-level officers were also transferred.
