Paddler Junior Nishaad Shah has been among top 10 in the country and one of the brightest prospects.

Paddler Junior Nishaad Shah has been among top 10 in the country and one of the brightest prospects. However, the 14-year-old Nishaad met with stiff resistence from unorthodox Marmehr Mago before making the junior boys singles pre-quarterfinals of the Khar Gymkhana-MSDTTA District TableTennisChampionships, held at Khar Gymkhana here on Wednesday.

Nishaad, who won 11-8,11-6,8-11,11-6 found Mago’s antispin backhand returns a bit of problem. However,he was quick to realize that he has to control his penchant for aggression before advancing.

So was top-seeded Ravindra Kotiyan, who was given a fihgt by Rutwik Pandirkar before he prevailed at 11-8,9-11,11-8,11-7 to join Nishaad in the round of 16.
