* D.G. Ruparel were lucky to oust opponents Kirti College by virtue of the coin rolling in their favour in the semi finals of the DSO Mumbai City T-20 Cricket tournament at the Azad Maidan today. Ruparel after putting up 112/6 were staring down the barrel as Kirti who chased the target spiritedly needed seven runs in the last over. But Ruparel managed to restrict their rivals to 6 runs which resulted in a tie. Pranit Wadkar (23 n.o.) failed to land the outright punch for Kirti better known for its boxers.
In the other semi-final an unbeaten 39 by Ajinkya Parte helped Khalsa put on 96 on the board. Their opponents Podar choked against good restrictive bowling by Sarvesh Lokegaonkar and Yash Chavan who claimed two wickets apiece. Podar finished at 60 for 8 wickets. In the u-14 and u-16 age group IES V N Sule Guruji made the final grade and are in line for a double. In the U/14 semis all rounder Yash Bhojane (45 n.o. & 2/11) and Omkar Rane (45) played stellar roles in their sides easy win over Anjuman e Islam (Urdu).
