Twenty years ago,while shooting for Hum,Amitabh Bachchan and South superstar Rajinikanth forged a friendship that till today binds them together. The latter is known to meet Bachchan on most of his visits to Mumbai while the Bollywood superstar organised a special screening of Paa for his friend. Now,the two veteran actors are set to take their friendship forward and appear as friends on the big screen in R Balkis next directorial venture.

Balki is said to have met Rajinikanth at the screening of Paa and come up with a story that would bring the two stars together after two decades. Though Balki did not confirm the same,a source close to the project said that a film starring the two is being worked on: Even at the launch of Robot,which starred Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan opposite Rajinikanth,Big B was the guest of honour and they even spoke about their friendship. Balki is set to recreate the on-screen magic of Hum with his next where the two actors will play friends. It is still undecided when the film goes on floors.
