First draft of psycho test ready

From May 10, all police officers will be approached zone-wise through psychiatric teams for a detailed lecture.

The committee appointed to finalise and draft a questionnaire for the psycho-analysis of over 40,000 police officers across Mumbai completed their first draft on Monday, with three sets of questionnaires in Marathi aimed to gauge three categories — stress, addiction and depression.

A meeting will now be held with Commissioner Rakesh Maria to finalise the questionnaire on Tuesday. From May 10, all police officers will be approached zone-wise through psychiatric teams for a detailed lecture.

“The questionnaire has been prepared using globally acclaimed standards. These are expert approved questions that help in rating a person on different scales,” said Dr Kaminidevi Bhoir, member of the core committee formed to finalise the questionnaire.

Other members in the committee include psychiatrists Dr Yusuf Matcheswala, Dr Smita Desai and Dr Avinash D’souza. The process began a month ago, but was sped up after the May 1 incident.
