Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan Thursday appointed 1991-batch IAS officer Deepak Kapoor as the principal secretary of the food and civil supplies department.
Former chief vigilance officer and senior IPS officer R K Sahay, who is battling serious burn injuries, had earlier complained to ACB alleging undue favours were given to contractors by MSRTC during Kapoors stint as its vice-chairman and managing director. Kapoor was moved out of MSRTC a week ago.
Chavan said there was no connection between his transfer and the ACB complaint. Kapoor has completed three years at MSRTC and was due for transfer, he said.
The CM said the ACB was probing the complaint and that the file for an open inquiry was yet to be placed before him.
