Delivery boy held for causing death

A delivery boy was arrested after a senior citizen,whom he had allegedly knocked down in Cuffe Parade on Monday night,succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

A delivery boy was arrested after a senior citizen,whom he had allegedly knocked down in Cuffe Parade on Monday night,succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

According to the Cuffe Parade police,Kamlesh Gupta (21),who was riding a bike,allegedly hit Tukaram Lakshman Pawar while crossing the road at Badhwar Park. After the accident,Gupta rushed Pawar to St George Hospital. However,Pawar succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning following which Gupta was arrested for causing death due to negligence. He was presented before the court on Wednesday but was released on bail, said Police Inspector Vilas Bhole.
