3 swept away,1 still missing
The bodies of two men were fished out of a river,frequently used for the immersion of Ganesh idols,in Abhinav Nagar in Borivali West on Thursday evening. The Kasturba Marg police said three men had gone swimming and were swept away. The third remains missing.

Repair shuts main runway for 1 hour
The main runway was closed from 9.20 am to 10.23 am for maintenance work made necessary by heavy rain. Operations were restricted to the secondary runway.

A Singapore Airlines flight was diverted to Bangalore as the airline’s policy rules out use of the secondary runway.

IM suspect says no proof,discharge me
Mohammed Zakir Shaikh,28,one of five men arrested from Bhiwandi in 2008,has sought discharge saying there is no evidence he belongs to the Indian Mujahideen. The High Court reserved its order observing it cannot grant relief on the basis of that argument since it would set a precedent.
