Since the rights to air the show have been taken over by Sony,the format is bound to change. “But we cannot reveal much now,” said Alit Thakur,executive vice-president and Business Head,Sony. He,however,revealed that the show would be aired in September if everything went as planned. “Efforts will be made for more participation,this time. There will be more call facilities so that people from more Indian cities can contest on the show,” he added. The show will also follow an entrance test kind of a format so that participants with higher general knowledge can get through. A survey found out that KBC is the most popular show among Indian housewives. “Most people said they would prefer KBC to other shows,” revealed Thakur.

Rumour mills have often predicted the show’s comeback. “It was only a matter of time before it returned to the small screen,” said Siddharth Basu,the force behind the show. It was said that the return of KBC has pushed 10 Ka Dum to the backburner. Thakur,however,dismissed it. “Both Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan enjoy enormous star power. We might run both KBC and 10 Ka Dum simultaneously to garner higher TRPs,” he said.
