Bedazzled

Avant-Garde fashion met goth chic at Zoya,Bandra,yesterday,which hosted the launch of Anaikka,the accessories label by designer Kanika Saluja (fresh from New York after designing for the likes of Mischa Barton,Rihanna and Paris Hilton) and the resort wear line of Masaba Gupta. While Gupta’s silhouettes were flowing and the colours riotous,Saluja’s brass body pieces were sculpted with harsh,asymmetrical cuts and seemed straight off the backs of Greek warriors. Neena Gupta came to cheer daughter Masaba who shimmered in a toga dress. Jyoti Gwalani,Azmina Rahimtoola and Aparna Badlani were seen scuttling around the store playing the warm hostesses while many of fashion’s movers and shakers including Rocky S and Nishka Lulla cast a discriminating eye over the collections. Others trying on the designers’ creations included Tisca Chopra,Meenal Kapoor,Vikram Raizada,Shraddha Nigam and Krishika Lulla.
