Youths steal Rs 10,000 from sweet shop in city

In a daring daylight incident,two masked youths decamped with cash from the cash box of a sweetmeat shop in the Kochar Market area this afternoon. The youth came in a black Scorpio to Ashok Sweet Shop and escaped in no time.

Giving information,shop owner Aman Kumar said,“Today,we had displayed our sweets on an extended counter outside our shop. As I was dealing with a customer,two youths came to the shop in a black Scorpio. While one kept sitting in the car,his fellow came to the counter and,in no time,took out Rs 10,000 lying in the cash box. I and some others tried to catch hold of him but the two sped away from the spot.”

Though the police noted down the statement of the shopkeeper,no breakthrough could be made as the duo had covered their faces as if they had done it to save themselves from the sun. Besides,the registration number of their vehicle also could not be noted down.

No FIR had been registered till the filing of this report.
