Tewari seeks y-o-y report from DC,MC on Centre-funded projects

Getting down to work,newly elected city MP Manish Tewari has sought the status report from the Deputy Commissioner and MC Commissioner about various Centre-sponsored projects for the district during the last five years tenure of the previous Central government.

“In the last five years,the Centre has sanctioned and disbursed substantive sums of money for Ludhiana,for the implementation of its Flagship Programes including the Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP),Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC),Accelerated Irrigation Benefit programme (AIBP),National Horticulture Mission (NHM),National Rural Health Mission,Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY),National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS),National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP),Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY),Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (APDRP),Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY),Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and the Mid-Day Meal Scheme (MDM),” he said.

In addition to this,he said,sustentative funds have also been sanctioned and disbursed under the Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) both for infrastructure development and housing.

He has sought year-on-year details of funds received and thus spent. He also sought a detailed report on the projects pending with the Central Government for approval/disbursal of financial assistance.
