Rishabh rallies into second round

In the boys’ Under-14 first round,Abhijeet Singh of Chandigarh marched his way into the second round by scoring a 4-2,4-2 win over Azad Singh of Haryana. Abhijeet claimed the first set with a margin of 4-2 before winning the second set with an identical margin. Andrew Pradeep ended the challenge of Nihit Rawal with a 4-2,5-4 (2). Pradeep claimed the first set with a margin of 4-2 before fighting his way to claim the final set 5-4. In another match of the day,Ankit Parasrampuria of Rajasthan ended the challenge of Sunny Khandre of Maharashtra with a 2-4,4-1,4-1 win. Parasrampuria lost the first set 2-4 before winning the next two sets with identical margin of 4-2.

In the girls’ category,Vanshika Sawhney of Chandigarh booked a berth in the second round with an easy 4-0,4-0 win over Shea Bhasin of Chandigarh. Sawhney claimed the first set with a margin of 4-0 before winning the second set with an identical margin. In another match in the same category,Sabrina Gill of Chandigarh stormed her way into the second round with a 4-0,4-0 win over Gulmehar Kaur of Punjab.
