The College of Basic Sciences and Humanities,PAU,is organising a one-month course in marketing and retail management from February 4,2009.
Dr Tejwant Singh,Dean of the College,said that graduate in any subject would be eligible for the course and that admission would be made on the basis of qualification and performance in the interview which will be held on January 28 at 10 am in his office. He said that application forms could be obtained from his office on payment of Rs 50 by cash or by sending demand draft of Rs 70 drawn in favour of Comptroller,PAU,Ludhiana,payable at the State Bank of India,PAU branch. Last date of receipt of applications is January 23,said Dr Singh. Further queries,if any,may be asked from the Dean,College of Basic Sciences and Humanities.
PAU prof gets US research fellowship
Harsimran Kaur,a student of Dr SK Jalota,Senior Soil Physicist,Department of Soils,has proceeded to Iowa State University,USA under Masters Sandwich Degree Program to conduct research for six months on Simulating the potentialities of irrigation and nitrogen management to mitigate the climate change impact on productivity of maize-wheat cropping system under the guidance of Dr Ramesh Kanwar,Professor and Chair,Department of Agricultural and Bio-system Engineering. She will get fellowship @ $ 1500 per month from that Institute under US-India AKI project.
Dr. M P Kaushal,Head,Department of Soil & Water Engineering,PAU and the Principle investigator of the project,said that the project is operating in three Indian Universities including PAU,CSSRI,Karnal (ICAR) and six US universities adding that PAU had earlier conducted a course on Water resource economy which was jointly taught by faculty from Iowa State University and PAU.
