Anti-terrorism rally held
The NSS volunteers of SDP School at Hajoo ri Road today took out a rally against terrorism. The children raised slogans against terrorism. Balraj Kumar Bhasin,president of the SDP Sabha and SDP Institutions,called upon the citizens to get united against terrorism. Similar rally was held at SDP Senior Secondary School at Basti Jodhewal.

Youth falls to death
Chandra Shekhar (18),a native of Uttar Pradesh,lost his life when he reportedly fell down from the third floor of a house at in Zirakpur on Friday. According to the police,Chandra Shekhar had come to stay in the house of his brother-in-law,who told the police that he was sleeping on the top floor of the house from where he may have fell accidentally. The family noticed him lying dead in the morning and approached the police. The body of the deceased has been handed over to the family.

Annual function held at DAV School
DAV Public School organised a cultural programme “Resonance-2010” in which about 300 students of Class X participated. The function included sufi kalam,ghumar,tribal dance,patriotic songs etc. The students also showcased their talent through Shakespeare’s comedy “As You like it”. The foot tapping bhangra lent a vibrant and colourful touch to the function.

Students measure noise level
The students of GMT College of Education,Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jattha and Small Scale Industrialists and Traders Association held second phase of measurement of noise level in the city. According to Dr H S Sidhu,principal of the college,students gathered in the college and marched towards bus stand,Quality Chowk,Shimlapuri and Bharat Nagar Chowk. They pledged to contribute with zeal to clean the environment.
