The second session of counselling was organized at the Sportking Institute Fashion Technology on Saturday. Kapil Aggarwal,a senior faculty member,gave a detailed insight about the infrastructure,change over platform from diploma to full time degree courses,fees structure,job prospects and opportunities available for fashion designing students.

Yog Vigyan camp held
To train the yoga practitioners (Sadaks) in the inner purification exercises,a camp was conducted by the Patanjali Yog Samiti at Urban Estate Phase-1,Dugri on Sunday. Pramodh Sharma,District President,PYS,presided over the camp and supervised the process of administration of the kiryas. The camp was attended by around 200 yoga practitioners from different parts of the city.

KV holds annual function
Kendriya Vidyalaya at Halwara celebrated the annual function here on Saturday. Students presented a cultural programe where chief guest Wg Cdr P K Joshi gave away prizes to winners.

MBA students excel in third semester
Students of University Business School,Ludhiana have scored first three position in the third semester exam of MBA conducted in december by Punjabi University Regional Centre. Charu Gupta,Deepika Sharma and Akhilesh Mittal stood first,second and third. Dr Deepak kapur director of the centre appreciated the efforts of students and staff.

BVM student clears talent exam

A student of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) cleared the Commerce Talent Search Exam held on January 5 with flying colours. Siksha Sareen of XI stood first in the school with 98.2% marks and scored seventh rank in the state.

NGO comes to rescue of govt school teachers
Universal Human Rights Organisation,a NGO,has appealed to the government to not depute teachers of government schools for non-educational works. NGO president Satnam Singh Dhaliwal said,“Government school teachers are over-worked with non-educational works. As a consequence,students suffer and this is also one of the reasons why people prefer to send their wards to private schools.” He said teachers remain occupied with non-educational works for more than six hours a day and hardly get two hours to teach. “Due to wrong government policies,teachers are being treated as clerks and postmen. Recently,many teachers have been roped in for the census duty. All this is affecting the students,” said Dhaliwal.

Chemists’ association gets new president
Amandeep Ahuja has been elected as the president of the District Youth Chemist Association. In a meeting held on Sunday,a resolution was passed that all association members will work against drugs by neither selling them nor promoting them. Baldev Krishan,preisdent of the Raikot Chemist Association,Tikka Dalip Singh,president of the Ludhiana District Chemist Association (wholesale) among others were present on the occasion.
