On a call given by All India Bank Employees Association and All India Bank Officers’ Association,bank employees and officers in public sector banks observed went on strike on Wednesday.

Bank employees observe strikeOn a call given by All India Bank Employees Association and All India Bank Officers’ Association,bank employees and officers in public sector banks observed went on strike on Wednesday. However the branches of SBI,Bank of India opened because they did not participate in this strike. Banking was affected in the rest of the banks thus putting the consumers at receiving end. The strike was against merger of public sector banks,closure of associated banks,non-implementation of banking sector reforms and many other issues. Sudesh Kumar,chairman,Punjab Bank Employees Federation (PBEF),V.K Sood,senior vice-president Naresh Gaur and many others spoke on the occasion.

Dein Le Foods launched Kamal Bajaj,director,Dein Le Foods Pvt Ltd,on Wednesday announced the launch of Dein Le Foods. Addressing the media persons,Bajaj said,“The company has the vision to become India ‘s first food brand which will deal in a whole range of foods products ranging from regular necessities to impulse products like ready to product range comprising of iced teas and bakery items.
Bajaj added,“The company has begun its operations with dairy products as we all say life begins with milk and Dein Le Foods will begin its life with mild products and then grow into other food segments. We aim to cater to customer groups ranging from students to professionals and housewives. Quality and R and D are our two string segments that help the company create a niche for itself in the market.”

PAU pensioners yet to receive pension At a general body meeting of the Punjab Agricultural University Pensioners Welfare Association held under the chairmanship of SS Sharma,the body has expressed concern over the fact that PAU pensioners have not received pension for November month till date. Sharma said,“The manner in which we pensioners have been getting our due over the last two years is a cause of great mental tension.” S P Gupta,general secretary of the association,said,“By not paying our dues,PAU is violating the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and in case the officials do not give us our right soon we will approach the court.”
