Bhatia Sabha,Ludhiana,has congratulated former BJP councillor Pran Nath Bhatia for becoming a member of the anti-encroachment committee. The DC has chosen him as a member to take his opinion on illegal encroachments. Secretary of Bhatia Sabha,ML Bhatia,and president Pritam Singh Bhatia have also congratulated Pran Bhatia for the appointment.

Meeting of Leisure Valley Club held
Narinderpal Singh Bhandari,president of the Leisure Valley Club,has asked the MC Commissioner to plant more trees in the valley,because “the private contractor has spoiled the valley in the last many years”. He said this in a meeting held recently. The contract of the contractor has already been cancelled and MC is maintaining the valley again.

Yog Vigyan camp starts at Sahnewal
A five-day long free Yog Vigyan Camp being conducted by District Patanjaly Yog Samiti and Bharat Swabhiman in collaboration with Patanjaly Yog Samiti Sahnewal started at Garden Resorts GT Road at Sahnewal. Abound 50 people from the village attended the first session of the camp. Roop Kaur Hara,Councilor,inaugurated the camp. Krishan Lal Gupta State President Patanjali Yog Samiti who presided over the first session educated the Sadaks (participants) about the prompt effects of yog on the human health.

DMCH to launch ‘Operation Walk’ project for poor
Dayanand Medical College in collaboration with Rubin Institute,USA,is launching “Operation Walk” for providing free hip and knee replacement surgeries for poor patients. Giving information about the proposed project,Professor and Head of Orthopedics-Dr. Mohd. Yamin said the “Operation Walk” is a private,non-profit,volunteer medical service organization that provides free surgical treatment for patients in developing countries who have disabling arthritis or other debilitating bone and joint conditions,that have little to no access to life-improving care. The orthopedic surgeons at DMCH and team members from Rubin Institute,USA will be constantly upgrading themselves in advanced surgical techniques,treatments for diseases and the recovery procedures of hip and knee joint conditions. The organization has so far operated on more than 3,000 patients in Russia,Cuba,Nepal,China,the Philippines,Nicaragua,Mexico,El Salvador,and the United States.

DMCH has started registering the patients for free hip and knee replacement surgeries for poor patients. To make the people of the region aware of this facility,DMCH will be organizing awareness camps at regular intervals with the help of charitable organizations in various locations of the state. Free examination camps for patients suffering from Hip & Knee problems will be organized by DMCH on 29th August and 26th September in the OPD premises.
