Hindi Diwas celebrated
The students of Ram Lal Bhasin Public School,Phase I,Dugri,celebrated Hindi Divas with enthusiasm. The celebration included hindi calligraphy,and Hindi story-telling competition. The students narrated their stories with different morals. The motive behind the competition was to develop confidence,power of imagination and expression,learning ability and clarity of words among them. Participants had used various props to make the delivery of story more effective and left audience dumbstruck with their performance.

Workshop on English held
Sat Paul Mittal School in association with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations took the initiative of organizing a two-day workshop in ISC English on 13 and 14 September. During this training was imparted to almost 15 participants from various reputed schools and institutions of northern India. The resource person,Suchismita Raha ,a veteran in English with her vast and enriching experience,carried out training on a wide variety of educational concerns geared towards improving or affirming teaching practices in the classroom,new syllabi thrusts or managerial skills in education. The aim of the workshop was to give a deeper understanding and an insight into the syllabi,the marking scheme and necessary requisites required to face the challenges of the concerned subject in the present education system.

Haphazard parking causes jam near Mini Secretariat
A huge traffic jam was witnessed on the backside of the Mini Secretariat where the parking contractor had allowed parking even on roadside in an haphazard manner. Commuters were stuck on the road going through Feroze Gandhi Market towards Canal Colony and Kochar Market because there was no place to go inside the parking area. Gurdas Ram,one of the commuters,said he got stuck for two hours on the 100-metre stretch. The jam continued for more than two hours and was lifted when a few vehicles were removed from the road.

International workshop on urogynaecology held at DMCH
An international workshop on urogynaecology was held at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital here on Monday. Organising secretary Dr Baldev Singh Aulakh,professor of urology and head of transplant unit at DMCH,said the aim of the conference was to keep healthcare professionals updated with latest scientific advances. Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh was the chief guest at the function. Eminent urologist Dr Amit Chakarbarty from USA and Dr Rakesh Kapoor form SGPGI Lucknow performed live surgeries for stress incontinence and highly prevalent cystocele and rectocele problems. The surgeries were telecast live at Dumra Auditorium for more than 200 delegates,including surgeons,gynaecologists,urologists and physicians.
