Getting a significant boost to its research,the Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology,PAU,has got a prestigious project.

Getting a significant boost to its research,the Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET),PAU,has got a prestigious project on “Microencapsulation methods for bacteriocins for their controlled release”. The project will be funded under the National Fund for Basic,Strategic and,Frontier Application Research in Agriculture (NBSFARA),an initiative of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Dr R T Patil of CIPHET said: “Concept notes from collaborative and multi-institutional research based on innovative ideas for solving advanced scientific and technological problems in agriculture were invited in open competitive mode and best ones are selected for grant of projects.” Senior scientist Dr K Narsaiah,who is the project leader,said the project aimed to develop simple as well as advanced microencapsulation systems and processes for encapsulation of food ingredients,nutraceuticals and biopreservatives.
