BMC, PMC, PCMC, Thane Election 2026 Voter List: As many as 29 civic bodies across Maharashtra are going to the polls on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Voters will elect candidates to represent their wards in their respective administrative bodies.
All eligible voters whose names appeared on the voter roll can download their Voter Information Slips (VIS), a document issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), that helps them locate their polling station. The slip also informs voters about their polling date and time. Due to the elections, the stock markets – NSE and BSE – will remain closed on Thursday, January 15.
1. Go to the ECI’s official website at voters.eci.gov.in, scroll down and click on ‘Search Your Name in Voter List’. Alternatively, you can go to search.eci.gov.in.
2. Choose one of the following:
Once you have filled in the required fields, the system will display your details.
3. Click on the ‘View Details’ tab under the ‘Action’ column. This will direct you to your voter slip.
4. Click on ‘Print Voter Information’ in the bottom left.
The slips contain electoral roll and polling booth details. However, unlike your EPIC, the VIS cannot be used as a standalone identification document for voting.
Voters in all the municipal corporations headed for polls on January 15, barring Mumbai, will vote under a three or four-member ward system. This requires electors to cast three or four separate votes in a single visit to the polling booth. This system marks the departure from the traditional one-ward-one-corporator model. The votes will be counted on January 16.
