Will crush communal forces: Mulayam

Mulayam Singh Yadav claimed Thursday that the state government will not hesitate in crushing those responsible for the killings in Muzaffarnagar.

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Mulayam Singh Yadav claimed Thursday that the state government will not hesitate in crushing those responsible for the killings in Muzaffarnagar.

Mulayam was speaking at a function at the SP office to celebrate the birth anniversary of Acharya Narendra Dev and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The SP chief’s speech at the function was focused on Muslims throughout.

Even after the function concluded,he took the stage again and said: “Nearly 2,000-3,000 Muslims from Muzaffarnagar met me and appreciated the relief measures. You will not feel sad, this is my promise,” he said.

“People were killed in Muzaffarnagar again. Those who are committing murders will not be free for long. Government is supreme. When the situation will be out of control and there is a need to crush such elements,it will also be done. Zaroorat padi to kuchal denge,” Mulayam said.

“At present,we are trying to make the situation normal as we will not tolerate atrocities and murders. All Hindus are not against Muslims but atrocities were committed against Muslims.”

Mulayam also said the relief provided by the state government was the best offered in the country ever. “Our party thought we cannot bring back those who are dead but atleast we can do something to wipe away the tears. They have been given food and have a house. For the first time,Rs 90 crore has been sanctioned for the relief of riot victims in the country,” he said.

Earlier,Mulayam recalled his struggle against communalism in his political career. “Yesterday 14 parties met in New Delhi and assured me support for my fight against communalism. I am fighting communal forces since 1985. Then, only left parties and Chandrashekhar were with me.”

He also appreciated the Akhilesh Yadav government for foiling the attempts of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to organise Sankalp Diwas and 84-Kosi Parikarma.
